A Year Of Boxes Review | The Literary Book Club | Dracula | October 2021
The Literary Book Club Review October 2021
The Literary Book Club is a bimonthly literary subscription box. Every other month, they send you a gorgeous collectible edition of a classic book and thoughtful, curated gifts to make your experience magical. The gifts are wrapped and numbered with page numbers to open as you read. They kindly sent us this box for review.
The Literary Book Club is a brand new subscription box that we just started reviewing on the blog. This is only their second box (the first one being the August box) and already they are doing an amazing job. This is quickly becoming one of my must-have subscriptions.
Subscription Details
The Literary Book Club is $74.95 bimonthly and shipping is $9.95, only shipping within the US at this time.
Each themed bi-monthly box will feature a selection of carefully curated special gifts, in addition to your stunning collectible edition book. You can expect to receive a variety of useful lifestyle gifts, self care luxury products, items bibliophiles will adore, and other lovely surprises.

Here’s a closer look at the October The Literary Book Club….
The first thing you see when you open your The Literary Book Club box is the beautiful envelope complete with wax seal. Tucked inside is a note that tells us our product list is at the bottom of the box and that we are to wait until we have opened all the gifts before we read it.
Dracula
Our book for October is a classic thriller – Dracula. Perfect for an October box, mine arrived just before Halloween and it definitely got me in the mood for the holiday. And can we talk about how gorgeous the book cover is?! Just like our August book, this one needs to be on display. Not only do I look forward to reading the books we receive but I also love the fact that they can be used as decor.
Cosmopolitan Drink Mix
This first gift was to be opened right away so that it can be enjoyed while we read. A nice change from the usual coffee and/or tea we usually receive in book boxes. As much as I LOVE to drink coffee while I read, it’s nice to mix it up every now and then.
Page 27
Our first gift to open is on page 27. It’s this beautiful Dracula’s Castle candle. It says “smells like dark nights and misery”. I absolutely love it! The perfect complement to our book. We received a candle in the August box as well which makes me wonder if this is something we can expect in every box? I hope it is!
On this page it talks about a man standing with a silver lamp in which “the flame burned without a chimney or globe of any kind”.
Page 51
On page 51 we are to open our next gift. Here we have a set of fountain pens and notebook. They are a little fancy for me to use as daily pens but they will make great decor for my office.
On this page there is talk of a table “where in old times possibly some fair lady sat to pen.”
Page 165
On page 165 we got to open this super cute mini charcuterie board complete with serving knife and dip mix. I could smell the garlic as soon as I opened the bag and instantly thought – what a perfect snack to eat while reading a book about vampires!
On this page they talk about making a garlic wreath to hang around one’s neck.
Open on the Last Page
And here we have a gift to open on the last page. I don’t yet have a reader’s journal and I actually really love this idea. I often try to remember what my favorite books are and what I loved about them so that I can recommend them to my friends but 9 times out of 10 I forget. This will be such a handy little tool. And the perfect gift to open when you are finished the book as you can immedialtey put it to use.
Lastly, we received this gorgeous print. We also received one in the August box so I am thinking this is something we will see in every box. I love that the colors/pattern complement the book itself. I can put them on display together.
The Literary Book Club Review October 2021 – Final Thoughts
I am quickly becoming a fan of this subscription. The Literary Book Club is absolutely beautiful and such a pleasure to unbox. I love all the little details, the wrapped gifts, the extra goodies (print, bookmark, pin) and the fact that they focus on the classics. This subscription is a book lover’s dream!
